What is Made in Marion?
We are a group of dedicated Marion manufacturers, educators and community members who are committed to ensuring student and community members understand the value of manufacturing and the job opportunities available in our area.
“This event serves as a catalyst for educating and building our workforce in advanced manufacturing, design, engineering, and the skilled trades, all vital to Marion’s and Ohio’s economic future.”
– Marion County Commissioners
The Expo was created as a way for Marion manufacturers and supporting logistics and utility companies to share what is made in Marion Ohio and the impact Marion Ohio makes on the world. 2019, the inaugural year 19 companies and 5 community partners hosted approximately 1,300 Marion County 7th and 9th grade students during the event. Lt. Governor Jon Husted kicked off the event with a key note address.
2020 was challenging, however, the Expo was able to continue as an online activity for schools through company videos.
The 2021 Expo saw 13 companies and 4 community partners hosting approximately 1,000 Marion County 7th and 9th grade students. Lt. Governor Jon Husted once again attended the event.
This event is held every year in October, which has been designated as Manufacturing Month nationwide.
